(UPDATED) Free Mental Health First Aid Classes!

NEW CLASSES ADDED! KCMHSAS is proud to offer Mental Health First Aid training to community members at no charge. Learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations and where to turn for help. The class runs from 8am-5pm. Lunch is on your own. All materials are provided. Learn more about Mental Health First Aid HERE.

We can also come to YOUR organization to provide group training! Just fill out this request form.

TYPES OF CLASSES

>>ADULT Mental Health First Aid: For anyone age 18 & older who wants to learn how to help a person experiencing a mental health related crisis or problem. LEARN MORE

>>YOUTH Mental Health First Aid: Designed for adults who regularly interact with young people.  Learn how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge. LEARN MORE

<NEW!> MHFA for VETERANS, MILITARY MEMBERS and THEIR FAMILIES: Focuses on military culture and the specific risk factors faced by many service members and their families. Participants learn how to break down stigma, how to reach out to those who are reluctant to seek help and how to access community resources for support. Designed for military members, veterans, their families and friends and those who work with them. LEARN MORE

<NEW> MHFA for HIGHER EDUCATION: Focuses on the unique experiences and needs of college students and features discussion of campus culture and specific stress and risk factors faced by those in higher education. Participants learn to apply the MHFA action plan in scenarios designed specifically for faculty, administration and students. It's a great option for students (must be at least 18), faculty members, administrators, resident advisors, coaches and athletic personnel, campus law enforcement, academic advisors, counselors, campus clergy, librarians and more.
