#LookBeyond recognized the Kalamazoo Community Foundation (KZCF) on Mon., April 22 for pledging as an organization to #BeStigmaFree. “The Kalamazoo Community Foundation was one of #LookBeyond’s first partners, and we’re grateful for their willingness to commit to being a stigma-free zone,” said Michelle Houtrow of Kalamazoo Community Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services (KCMHSAS). Houtrow is Program Manager of Services for Youth and Families, Project Director for Kalamazoo Wraps System of Care and a member of the #LookBeyond Social Marketing Team.
“As an anchor of the Kalamazoo community, the Foundation’s visible support for increasing awareness and commitment to ending stigma sends a great message. We invite all area organizations – schools, nonprofits, businesses, providers, faith communities, etc. – to take the pledge and join the efforts to end stigma,” Houtrow added.
The Kalamazoo Community Foundation is one of the oldest, most respected and successful community foundations in the country, supported by thousands of people from all walks of life. KZCF provides essential funding to programs that ensure children have an equitable chance for success in school, that nurture and prepare young people for life beyond school, that support individuals and families from all walks of life, that enhance community prosperity in every corner of Kalamazoo County and make life better for all.
