Challenging Stigma Through Art

From paintings, drawings and sculpture to poems and spoken word, our Art Hop exhibit featuring more than 60 works on the theme of stigma drew hundreds of visitors to the Epic Center on Friday, Sept. 7. Thank you to the local artists who shared what it’s like to live with challenges like mental illnesses, substance use disorders and intellectual/developmental disabilities. By powerfully depicting the impact of stigma, the exhibit helped our community understand better why we’re calling for everyone in Kalamazoo County to pledge to #LookBeyond and #BeStigmaFree.
